Free Public Transport

Helsinki Region Transport, the organization responsible for public  transport in Helsinki has granted all participants in the 49er Europeans free use of public  transport in the Finnish capital. At registration sailors and coaches get a card that allows them to use buses, trams and metro (underground) within Helsinki without having to pay any fees. That card is valid during the event.

Public  transports in Helsinki are considered to be on a very high level and there is a bus line connecting the Hernesaari base with central Helsinki .

As in all major cities parking  space in central areas is very limited in Helsinki so there are many advantages using the public  transport network consisting of buses, trams and an underground line.
