Lucas Rual

Born in Rennes on 25 April 1995 and raised on the Atlantic coast around Pornic, Lucas Rual has sailed with Emile Amoros since 2013, the pair coming up together through the Optimist and 29er classes.

They represented France at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and, in 2023, were crowned European Champions.

One of France's most experienced 49er skippers, Rual continues to push at the front of a famously deep national fleet.

Emile Amoros

Emile Amoros (born 26 August 1995), also from France's Atlantic coast, has been Lucas Rual's crew since the pair first teamed up in 2013 as youngsters in the Optimist and 29er.

Their long partnership carried them to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and the 2023 European title.

A powerful and seasoned front-of-boat sailor, Amoros and Rual remain mainstays of the French Olympic skiff squad.
