Born in Gdynia on 5 May 1998, Aleksandra Melzacka helms one of Poland's most successful women's skiff crews.

With Sandra Jankowiak she has delivered historic results for Polish sailing, including a bronze medal at the 49erFX World Championships, a first for the nation's skiffs, and silver among European nations at the Europeans in Thessaloniki.

The pair, who race for the PGE Sailing Team, competed at the Paris 2024 Olympics, finishing 18th, and remain a fixture near the front of the international fleet.

Born on 12 January 1996, Sandra Jankowiak is a Polish Olympian who stepped away from the sport before returning in 2021 to crew for Aleksandra Melzacka.

The renewed partnership has paid off handsomely, earning a historic World Championship bronze for Poland and a European silver in Thessaloniki, as well as a place at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Representing the PGE Sailing Team, Jankowiak and Melzacka continue to fly the flag for Polish women's sailing on the world stage.
