Xin Wang helms CHN 616 for the China Water Sports Administration.

With Tianyu Qi he finished third at the Trofeo Princesa Sofía in Palma in April 2026, taking a couple of race wins during the week and closing with a third and a fifth in a 101-boat fleet. It was one of two Chinese 49er crews on a Grand Slam podium in the first season of the LA 2028 cycle, alongside Zaiding Wen and Tian Liu.

China now fields three 49er crews internationally, and the selection contest between them is one of the closest in the fleet.
