Canada’s twin sisters — the most exciting new partnership in the 49erFX
Born in Montreal on 1 December 1999 and raised in Chester, Nova Scotia, Georgia Lewin-LaFrance helms Canada's leading 49erFX alongside her older sister Antonia.
The sisters qualified for and competed at the Paris 2024 Olympics, finishing 11th, and have since climbed to the very top of the world rankings. Their 2025 season brought World Championship bronze and the European title.
In 2026 they won the Princess Sofia Trophy in April before taking fourth at the World Championship in Quiberon, as they target a home-continent Olympics at Los Angeles 2028.
The elder of the sailing Lewin-LaFrance sisters, Antonia was born in Montreal on 12 July 1997 and grew up in Chester, Nova Scotia.
Crewing for younger sister Georgia, she helped steer Canada to the Paris 2024 Olympics, where they placed 11th, and to a breakthrough 2025 of World bronze and European gold.
The sisters opened 2026 with victory at the Princess Sofia Trophy and a fourth-place finish at the World Championship, cementing their status among the best FX crews in the world.
