Zaiding Wen / Tian Liu

Zaiding Wen / Tian Liu
China’s fastest 49er team, 11th at the 2026 World Championships in Quiberon
Zaiding Wen is a pioneer of Chinese skiff sailing. With crew Tian Liu he qualified China for the Paris 2024 Olympics by winning the 2023 Asian Sailing Championship, and the pair went on to make their Olympic debut in Marseille.
In 2026 they claimed the biggest win of their careers, taking the Semaine Olympique Francaise in Hyeres, their first major regatta victory and a result that also secured their Asian Games selection ahead of domestic rivals.
Wen and Liu are now among the leading crews of the new Olympic cycle as China establishes itself in the men's skiff.
Tian Liu, who hails from Shandong, forms one half of China's trans-provincial 49er crew alongside helm Zaiding Wen.
The duo broke new ground for Chinese sailing, qualifying for and competing at the Paris 2024 Olympics after winning the 2023 Asian Championship. Liu's steady work in the front of the boat helped power the pair to victory at the 2026 French Olympic Week in Hyeres, their first major title.
They now build toward the Asian Games and the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic cycle.
