Jonas Warrer is a true legend of the 49er class, Olympic champion at Beijing 2008, where he and Martin Kirketerp authored one of sailing's greatest stories, borrowing a Croatian boat after their mast broke and finishing seventh in the medal race to clinch gold.

Nearly two decades on, Warrer is still at the sharp end. Teamed with young crew Mathias Lehm Sletten, he added World Championship bronze in 2025, a remarkable second Worlds medal across an extraordinary career.

His experience makes the Danish boat one to respect as a new cycle begins.

Mathias Lehm Sletten crews for Danish great Jonas Warrer, and the young sailor has risen to the occasion alongside his decorated skipper.

Together they claimed bronze at the 2025 World Championship, a standout result that underlined Sletten's pedigree in the front of the boat.

Learning from an Olympic gold medallist, Sletten is among the brightest Danish talents as the pair campaign toward Los Angeles 2028.
