Lorenzo Pezzilli

Lorenzo Pezzilli, a rising star from the Ravenna sailing club, is one of Italy's most promising 49er helmsmen.

With crew Tobia Torroni he won silver at the U21 Junior World Championship during Travemunder Woche in 2023 and added another junior European silver in 2025, while also breaking into the senior top five at a World Championship.

The young Italian pair are firmly on the Olympic pathway toward Los Angeles 2028.

Tobia Torroni, of the Savio nautical club, crews for Ravenna's Lorenzo Pezzilli in one of Italy's brightest young 49er teams.

The pair have stacked up junior honours, including U21 World silver in 2023 and European silver in 2025, and have shown they can mix it with the senior fleet.

Torroni and Pezzilli are building steadily toward a first Olympic campaign for LA 2028.
