Simon Heindl / Conrad Jacobs
Germany’s youngest 49er team, 24th at the 2026 World Championships
Born on 28 April 2005, Simon Heindl is a young German helmsman who, with crew Conrad Jacobs, became U21 World Champion in the 49er in 2024 in Galicia, also taking U23 bronze.
The pair relocated to the DSV Sports Academy in Kiel, where they completed their school-leaving exams while training intensively.
They now represent the Kieler Yacht-Club in the German Sailing Team's development squad as they chase an Olympic future.
Conrad Jacobs (born 23 June 2005) is the jib trimmer alongside skipper Simon Heindl, the two having committed fully to the sport by moving to Kiel's DSV Sports Academy to combine elite training with finishing school.
Their dedication paid off with the 2024 U21 World Championship title in Galicia and U23 bronze.
Sailing for the Kieler Yacht-Club, Jacobs and Heindl are among Germany's most promising young skiff sailors.
