Mathilde Lovadina helms a French 49erFX crew that represents a fresh start for both sailors, having recently switched across from the foiling Nacra 17.

In their first season together the pair made an immediate impression on the European circuit, taking fourth at the 2025 Trofeo Princesa Sofia and sixth at their first European Championship.

It is a strong base from which to build toward Los Angeles 2028.

Lou Berthomieu (born 20 June 2001) is already an Olympian, having crewed the mixed Nacra 17 for Tim Mourniac at the Paris 2024 Games, where they finished fifth.

She has since moved into the 49erFX to team up with Mathilde Lovadina, and the new partnership has quickly risen among Europe's better crews.

The pair blend Berthomieu's Olympic experience with evident potential as they aim for LA 2028.
