One Winter Location to the Next – A Skiff Life

The fall is the off season for sailors, the Winter is for the skiff life.  The spring and summer are full of travel and regattas, a commuters life really, of changing locations and destination every other week as the calendar bustles through European major events and into the class events.  It’s a time of constant motion for the competitive sailing circuit.

The winter season is a bit different.  Usually with major trips involving shipping containers, it’s what we like to call skiff life.  The whole fleet descends on a destination with too much time for the normal spring.  There must be small breaks, allowing for workout routines, evening socializing, local exploration, and in depth preparation.  Catch this wonderfully cinematic videography from the 2015 worlds prep in San Isidro, Argentina.

The next stop is another standard of skiff life, Southern Florida. The Miami World Cup followed by the 2016 World Championship in Clearwater.
